InductEV Taps Weston LaBar as Wireless Vehicle Charging Company’s First Chief Logistics Officer

Drayage Trucking Veteran Joins Growing Team in InductEV’s Newly Opened Long Beach, CA Office

LONG BEACH, CA, April 30 - InductEV today announced that trucking industry veteran Weston LaBar has joined the company as its first Chief Logistics Officer. He joins a growing team of industry veterans in the wireless vehicle charging company’s new Long Beach, CA office.

Mr. LaBar has previously served as CEO of V52, a private equity advisory firm focused on early-stage innovations in the goods movement, supply chain, and transportation industry since 2018.  He has spent the last three years as an executive for Cargomatic, a Long Beach-based company that connects shippers with trucking capacity from more than 22,000 truck drivers, most recently as Chief Spokesperson and SVP of Industry Relations. This followed more than six years as Chief Executive Officer of Harbor Trucking Association, the nation’s largest drayage trucking association.

“As fleet owners, port operators, and freight terminals electrify their fleets, Weston’s experience in and deep understanding of this segment of the commercial transportation market will dovetail well with the team we have put in place in Long Beach,” said M. David Dealy, InductEV’s President and Chief Commercial Officer. “We’re seeing strong industry momentum in the adoption of our wireless induction charging technology. We’re confident Weston will help accelerate this important trend.”

InductEV’s technology holds 18 patents with 23 more pending. Its AI-managed, high-power, high-speed solution charges vehicles while on-route, which gives it tremendous environmental, economic, and operational advantages over diesel-fueled trucks and traditional conductive (plug-in) EV charging models. To date, the company has delivered over 1.5 GWh of energy to customers across the U.S. and the EU through its wireless charging network - the equivalent of saving 650 metric tons of CO2.

“As someone who has spent my career building coalitions on countless initiatives with other stakeholders in the global supply chain to increase port productivity and the advancement of technology in freight, I am looking forward to helping InductEV realize its vision of wireless EV charging in the freight industry,” added Mr. LaBar. I’m especially pleased to join the established leader in the wireless charging space at a time when the trucking industry is poised to embrace the electrification of its fleets.”

Mr. LaBar also serves as chair of the advisory board of zero-emissions OEM Evolectric and is a current or former advisor to more than a dozen companies in the supply-chain ecosystem. He remains active in local, state, and federal policymaking on goods movement and international trade serving on industry boards at the American Trucking Association (ATA) and Harbor Trucking Association (HTA), as well as serving as chair of the workforce commission for the City of Long Beach and steering committees for the Center for International Trade and Transportation at the California State University of Long Beach and Long Beach City College.
